PRACTITIONER
Silvio Bodoni
My passion for fitness and health began at a very young age. Growing up, I was introduced to a large variety of sports such as soccer, baseball, tennis, and various martial arts such as Jiu-jitsu. I found that this not only formulated my passion and enthusiasm for human movement as a whole, but it also instilled in me a mindset oriented around the importance of skill development and discipline toward personal and professional growth.
Being raised in such an environment was essential for setting aside certain ideals for what I believe the human organism should be capable of. I found it very useful early on in life to improve my ability to adapt to the stress of adversity through the use of problem solving skills and resilience. Understanding how this helped me build a strong value system toward solving my own issues, I was inspired by the idea that I could spread the wealth to others through the lens of biomechanics.
While training Jiu-jitsu since the age of 9, experiencing several injuries of my own and witnessing my peers persist through cycles of chronic pain, something hinted to me that this should not be the norm. At just 19 years old, I already began experiencing back and knee pain due to the combination of traditional weight training protocols, high-impact sports and working manual labor for several years. Therefore, I prioritized my studies in a direction that would lead me to better understanding how the human body evolved to move and interact with our environment. It was at this time when I discovered Functional Patterns (FP). I finally came across a comprehensive systems based approach toward improving one's physiological health. As a result, I have not only been able to overcome my own adversity in a way that allows me to continue doing all the things I enjoy as an athlete, but I have transcended that passion toward helping others improve their quality of life by becoming a full time practitioner.
Over the years I have seeked to refine my skills as a fitness practitioner and a student of science to provide valuable information on the most cutting-edge technology in the field. Thus, I look forward to continuously passing on this information to help contribute to a mentally and physically strong and resilient society of people who move and function better as a whole.
