Struggle with chronic pain, poor posture or feel like your body just isn’t right day-to-day?
The journey to fix that starts by understanding exactly what’s going on…
“If you’re looking for the best gym in Austin, this is it. I highly recommend Functional Patterns Texas, whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, you want to prevent future injuries and chronic pain, or you want to improve your overall fitness.” - Taylor, Functional Medicine Dietician
You’ve probably run into a roadblock after trying countless PTs, chiropractors and other professionals who gave you temporary pain relief but didn’t address the root cause, right?
Now here you are - still struggling with chronic pain, and just wanting to fix the way you move.
We get it. That’s why people visit us.
They’ve tried everything else and discovered we change lives by focusing on the primal blueprint that makes humans move the way we’re supposed to without any forced manipulation.
It all starts with a 1-on-1 Biomechanical Assessment.
We show you why you struggle - teach you what to prioritize, reframe how to look at exercise and what’s happening with your body on a skeletal and muscular level, so you understand how to fix it and any potential risks of not fixing it.
Addressing the pain now is important but making sure you rebalance yourself for future years is critical.
Unlike some methods, we don’t separate strength from balance and mobility. That’s the reason people suffer long term with traditional training. Short-term gains for long-term problems. We find the root cause of your issues and provide a long-term answer.
What Happens During The Biomechanic Assessment?
1. Lifestyle Download
First, we find out what you’re struggling with (including medical or injury history) and outside factors that have a huge impact on your body, including your diet, sleep, activity, training history and stress level.
This is important so we have a comprehensive background of how you live. It helps us understand your lifestyle, which is crucial if we’re going to create a plan to help you have the body you want without the pain.
2. Photo & Video Footage
We move on to how your body moves by photographing your posture from each side and filming your movement for detailed gait analysis with our advanced equipment.
Gait is the sequence the body goes through when walking and running. Analyzing your movement patterns allows us to see deeper into how your body functions.
For example, if your body doesn’t lightly absorb the shock from the ground when you run, we can potentially pinpoint a compression somewhere up the kinetic chain, like the ankle, knee, hip, lower back or spine. Or we may notice your right hip drops because of a lack of engagement in your core or that your ribcage is twisted.
Our techniques help balance everything out which reduces inflammation and alleviates chronic aches and pains.
These "before" photos, while showing us what’s going on, also act to track your progress throughout your training journey.
3. In-Depth Analysis Of Your Posture And Gait Cycle
We discuss our findings and then show you how the Functional Patterns system works to address your specific struggles so you can enjoy the pain-free life you’re after, and future-proof your body. (Because the longer you leave small issues, the more severe they are when you’re older. This is why you see so many elderly folks struggling to move.)
We’ll show you video footage of others to help you see how your body should move, and break down how the skeleton, muscles and connective tissue are currently compared to how they should be.
Then, we’ll build an individual training plan just for you to fix all these problems.
4. Next Steps…
Once we both understand what’s going on with your body mechanics, and we’ve created a unique personalized plan focused on helping you achieve your body goals, we have several packages available (including our Exclusive Intro Bundle) for different budgets.
Your dedicated biomechanics specialists will discuss these options with you if you’d like to know more.

Our assessment process focuses on understanding your current state and goals in depth. We’ll capture photos of your posture and video of your gait to evaluate your movement patterns. This helps us pinpoint your body’s movement capacity. From there, we’ll walk you through our findings, then guide you through an application phase to demonstrate where we should begin. Finally, we’ll conclude with a personalized plan that aligns with your specific needs and goals.
-
For your assessment, we recommend attire that allows us to observe your joints and spine effectively.
Women: Sports bra and shorts
Men: Shorts, no shirt
While it’s not mandatory, following these guidelines will help us get the most accurate assessment. However, please wear whatever makes you comfortable! Your comfort is our priority, and we’ll ensure a valuable session regardless of attire.

Testimonial: From Thinking Surgery Was The Only Option To Running & Playing Sports
"There came a point where I thought my problem had no solution, only surgery, but as soon as I knew that @julio_pro was working with a different methodology that provided very good results with people who had the same problem as me, I decided to put myself in their hands." My quality of life has improved tremendously because since I have no pain, just some discomfort rarely. Now I can run again and I'm back to doing some sports that were impossible before. "
Weightloss & Improved Rheumatoid Arthritis
“FP has ingrained in me a way of thinking and approaching problems that has liberated me. I am much better at identifying my own problems, planning a course of action, and implementing that action plan. I am much less reactive to my environment and the people around me. I am no longer looking for someone else to “fix” me or solve my issues for me. It’s all on me, and the control I have over my own destiny has empowered me and improved my entire outlook in all aspects of my life. I feel like l am in control and living my life now instead of just letting life happen to me.
When I started, I was very food motivated. I used food to deal with emotional/mental issues. About two years into my FP journey, I realized that I had totally changed my relationship with food.As I have gotten more and more into correcting my physical issues and dealing with them, I no longer think about food constantly.
I seriously was thinking about food ALL THE TIME, and constantly craving things (sugar mostly). My hunger was never satisfied. Now, I feel like I have a “normal” relationship with food.
I am over 4 years into this Functional Patterns journey now, and I will continue FP for the rest of my life. I am truly a completely different person inside and out since I started the FP program and all of the other lifestyle changes that have come with it. I believe I have always had it in me to change the trajectory of my life, but Functional Patterns has given me the blueprint and the path to actually do it. It has truly saved my life.”
